This is my second year visiting the London Dragon Boat Race festival. Is definitely a good festival to visit, not only your kids will enjoy and love the dragon boat race, London City Airport is just opposite the dock where you can see and hear closely air plane landing and taking off! And the main attraction for me is the Lion Dance performance, where you can enjoy the performance closely.
It starts at 10am and I would strongly recommend to park at the Travelodge hotel parking rather than the designated visitor car park which is full and far away from the venue. It cost only a £1 per hour and just across the road from the venue.
There are variety of stalls offering different kind of street foods for you to enjoy. I’m a bit disappointed this year as the number of stalls has been cut down. Not to mentioned the portable toilets which are not clean and no water supply.
The organisers has added a few more entertainment show this year including Martial arts demo, singing and dancing performance to entertain the visitors, thumbs up for them!
I would strongly recommend to visit this festival as you can learn a lot about Chinese culture. See you next year!
